Who Can Teach
Learning and teaching the martial art of JuJutsu is a dynamic and inclusive endeavor that welcomes individuals of all backgrounds and abilities. Unlike some sports where coaches are often former athletes or professional fighters, a JuJutsu coach doesn't necessarily need to be a top-tier athlete. What sets an effective JuJutsu coach apart is their deep understanding of the art and their ability to impart that knowledge to students.
Take, for instance, the realm of boxing where Mike Tyson, under the guidance of a skilled trainer, could excel in the ring. The trainer's expertise in teaching, strategy, and technique is invaluable, even if Tyson might outshine in the actual physical execution.
A good martial artist doesn't always translate into a proficient martial arts teacher or instructor.
What makes the ShinKenDo JuJutsu So Effective.
ShinKenDo JuJutsu distinguishes itself as an exceptionally effective martial art by deliberately avoiding competitive elements, focusing solely on practical self-defense. Unlike many other styles, which often emphasize sport-oriented grappling, ShinKenDo prioritizes stand-up techniques and minimizes dependence on ground fighting—an approach that addresses the disadvantages of grappling in unpredictable, real-life situations. While it does include ground grappling, ShinKenDo's approach is unique: instead of sport-based techniques, it combines targeted strikes from various ground positions with small joint manipulations, making these techniques effective and accessible for practitioners of any size or strength, whether male or female.
The training is challenging, and the greatest rewards come from persevering through its toughest demands. Featuring low kicks requiring minimal flexibility, attacks to vital targets, restraint techniques, and defenses against weapons, ShinKenDo JuJutsu demonstrates how adaptable techniques can be taught to anyone willing to learn, making it an inclusive martial art for all.
Why Wear the Uniform?
Wearing the martial arts uniform is a practice deeply rooted in a combination of practicality, tradition, and respect for the art. Firstly, hygiene plays a crucial role as the uniform serves as a protective barrier, minimizing direct skin contact and preventing the spread of germs and infections during training.
Additionally, the uniform fosters a sense of uniformity and equality among practitioners, breaking down socio-economic barriers and emphasizing that everyone is equal on the training floor. The uniform becomes a visual representation of the martial arts community, promoting a shared identity and a sense of belonging.
Tradition is another vital aspect, as the uniform carries the legacy of martial arts through its design and symbolic elements, connecting practitioners to the historical roots of their discipline. Wearing the martial arts uniform is not merely a practical necessity but a tangible expression of discipline, respect, and unity within the martial arts community.
